An investment counselor went out on her own.
She was shrewd and diligent, so business kept coming in.
Pretty soon she realized she needed an in-house counsel,
and so she began interviewing young lawyers.

"As I'm sure you can understand," she started off with one of the first applicants,
"in a business like this, our personal integrity must be beyond question."
She leaned forward and continued, "Mr. Peterson, are you an honest lawyer?"

"Honest?" replied the job prospect. "Let me tell you something about honest.
Why, I'm so honest that my father lent me fifteen thousand dollars for my education
and I paid back every penny the minute I tried my very first case."

"Impressive. And what sort of case was that?"

The lawyer squirmed in his seat and admitted, "He sued me for the money."

Dan 3:16-18
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, answered and said to the king,
O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace,
and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods,
nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Christians can learn a lot about integrity from this story of "Shadrach, Meshack, and Abed-nego."
(We also can learn about integrity from Daniel's story in Daniel 6.)

The king, Nebuchadnezzar, decreed that when his special statue was erected,
men would bow down and worship that statue at certain times of the day.

The three young men above determined to be true to God, even in the face of death.
They had learned that in matters of faith, one should never sacrifice conscience.

If you hold true to God, and His principles of faith, you may:
be laughed at,
even defamed.
But integrity is what YOU and GOD know about YOU!

In matters of both business and faith, never compromise TRUTH!
One ounce of a pure heart is worth ten tons of pure gold!

Integrity in Christ demands that we put others before self.
Phil 2:1-3
1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit,
if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each
esteem other better than themselves.

Integrity in Christ demands that we exhibit God's love toward others.
1 John 4:16-21
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.
God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:
because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment.
He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.
20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother
whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Have a thimble full of integrity and you'll have a bucket full of courage!

Love ya!
