A fella moved to Florida from Massachusetts. (I wonder why?)
He immediately took advantage of the good fishing in Florida.
He assembled the gear that he had used for freshwater fishing
up north, and settled on a popular spot along the
He attached his favorite lure, cast it out, and within minutes
had caught a beautiful 8 pounder!
A local fisherman gazed in amazement.
The "newcomer" brought the fish ashore and gave it to
the local fisherman.
He accepted it with gratitude, and asked,
"What did you use to land this beauty?"
The "newcomer" explained it was his favorite silver spinner.
The local oldtimer said, "Oh no! That can not be done!
You gotta use live shrimp to catch fish like that!"
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised
again for our justification.
5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace
wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
LIGHT from the WORD.
They said it couldn't be done!
They said God would not come to earth as a man!
The Pharisees called Jesus a "winebibber" who ate with
sinners and He certainly could not be the Messiah.
The Sadducees said there was no resurrection and God
wouldn't do that.
They were so enthralled with their OWN idea of God they
refused the TRUTH!
Even though God had told them in His Word there would be
a "suffering Messiah," they did not believe it!
Isa 53:1-5 said,
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm
of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant,
and as a root out of a dry ground:
he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him,
there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces
from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows:
yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised
for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
But God came in the Person of Jesus Christ!
Jesus died for sinners!
He was the "Righteous" dying for the UNrighteous.
He was the "Sinless" dying for the sinful.
Because of what Jesus did:
When we surrender to Christ, we no longer stand in the
mucky mire of our own sin;
We stand "justified" in the righteousness of our Savior;
We are granted "access" to God through prayer;
And, we become partakers of the Divine grace and mercy
And because of Jesus' atonement, we have the secured
"hope" of heaven!
Ain't God GOOD?
