"Are You BEHAVING?"
HI!
The evangelist was coming to the church
to preach a revival.
A deacon met him at the door to the office
and told him the pastor was very ill.
They had prayer for the pastor and the
church.
The evangelist thought he would see how
well the deacon knew his pastor.
He asked, "What color are your pastor's
eyes?"
The deacon responded, "Well, I really can't
tell ya. Ya see when he prays, he closes
his eyes. And, when he preaches, I close
mine."

1 Tim 3:14-15
14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come
unto thee shortly:
15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how
thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of
God, which is the church of the living God, the
pillar and ground of the truth.

The church is the “house of God,” or congregation.
The members are those who have openly
confessed faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Lord
and Savior.
And the "church of the living God" is the "pillar
and ground of the truth!"
Jesus formed and founded the church through His
sacrifice on the cross. (See Eph. 5:25-27 and
Col. 1:18)
The main function of the church is to present
Jesus to the world.
We are, under God's authority and plan,
DIRECTED to show the world WHO Jesus is and
WHY Jesus came to Earth.
The only manner in which we can perform that
function is to exhibit the love Christ has for the
world THROUGH the performance of our lives
IN and THROUGH the church.
The question is, ARE we BEHAVING properly?
Paul, the apostle, wrote in Eph. 4:1-3,
"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech
you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith
ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness,
with longsuffering, forbearing one another in
love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the
Spirit in the bond of peace."
The way to BE a Christian is to present Jesus
to the world while we work IN and THROUGH
the church.
Jesus said, "By THIS shall all men Know that
ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to
another." (John 13:35)
