I remember when we had a well behind the house.
It was WORK for me.
But we received good things from it.

A pulley and a 5 gallon bucket meant pulling, carrying, emptying, and going back for more.

But we could drink, cook, and even bathe with that water.

Then, one day, we got an electric pump!
No more drawing water!

Isa 12:3
Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Light from the Word.

When we are brought to know Christ as our Lord and Savior,
it is the BEGINNING of a wonderful joy to come!

We indeed find "rest unto your souls." (See Matt. 11:29-30)
That rest is the comforting presence of God's Holy Spirit.
That rest is KNOWING our salvation is complete in Christ.

But that rest requires WORK, for we must learn and grow.

We learn that Jesus is our atonement with God!
For, "the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
(1 John 1:7)

We learn that Jesus gives us justification instead of condemnation! (Rom. 8:1-2)

We learn that Jesus daily prays for us. (Heb. 7:25)
And, we learn that God's Holy Spirit helps us pray. (Rom. 8:26-27)

The more we LEARN, the more REST we have!

And, we learn there's coming a day when we'll work no more!
(Rev. 21:4)

"What a day that will be,
When my Jesus I shall see,
And I look upon His face,
The One who saved me by His grace;
When He takes me by the hand,
And leads me through the Promised Land,
What a day, glorious day that will be."
(Written by Jim Hill)

Today we must "draw water out of the wells of salvation."
But soon, we will be brought to the fullness of the Lord!

My Christian friend, WORK!
Work to LEARN!
And, then SHARE!

Love ya!
