BRUCE MCGEE MINISTRIES
Gary Godard Chief Technical Officer
A minister who was very fond of pure, hot horseradish
always kept a bottle of it on his dining room table.
He offered some to a guest, who took a big spoonful.
When the guest finally was able to speak, he gasped,
"I've heard many ministers preach hellfire, but you are
the first one I've met who passed out a sample of it!"
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the
power of His might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, so that you may be able
to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in
LIGHT from the WORD.
I don't think the visitor in the minister's home above was
prepared for what he was tasting!
Sadly, I'm afraid millions of those who call themselves
Christians are UNPREPARED for PARTICIPATION in the
battle against evil in this world!
Nations do not send soldiers into battle without first
giving them TRAINING.
And, God offers training for His soldiers in the spiritual
battles of life.
But Christians must apply themselves to STUDY
in order that the Holy Spirit of God may TEACH!
The need for Christian warriors in the battle against evil
has certainly not diminished, but has increased!
Two things should be obvious to all Christians about this
war against evil:
First, there is indeed a spiritual war in this world today;
Second, Christians are called into that war!
We must DAILY “Put on the WHOLE armor of God!”
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers,
against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
(Eph. 6:12 above)
Both the battle is spiritual and our Lord’s weaponry
God's weaponry for the Christian includes;
*"the helmet of salvation" - or realization of salvation;
*a knowledge of truth - the Scriptures;
*shoes which carry the Gospel of peace;
*a shield of faith to ward off evil;
*a sword of the Spirit - God's Holy Spirit;
*a breastplate of righteousness" - ready participation;
* and prayer!
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,
and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication
for all saints;” (Eph. 6:18)
Daily preparation is required for active and useful participation!
Remember, to fail to plan is to plan to fail!
Are you PREPARING?
