Teddy came thundering down the stairs,
much to his father's annoyance.

"Teddy," he called, "how many more times have
I got to tell you to come down the stairs quietly?
Now, go back up and come down like a civilized
human being."

There was a silence, and Teddy reappeared in
the front room.

"That's better," said his father. "Now will you
always come down stairs like that?"

"Yes Sir!" Teddy said.
(He thought to himself, "sliding down the
bannister is quiet!")

Mark 10:13-16
13 And they brought young children to him,
that he should touch them:
and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased,
and said unto them,
Suffer the little children to come unto me,
and forbid them not:
for of such is the kingdom of God.
15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall
not receive the kingdom of God
as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
16 And he took them up in his arms, put his
hands upon them, and blessed them.

LIGHT from the WORD.

The disciples thought Jesus was too busy teaching
doctrinal issues to take time with children.
But Jesus explained they should be ALLOWED
to come to Him.

Many today believe that Jesus is too DEEP
for children to comprehend.
But even a child can realize conviction for sin!

During 39 years of pastoral servitude, I have faced
the following question many times:
"When is a child OLD ENOUGH to understand salvation?"

I always respond with, "When are YOU old enough to
understand it?"
The truth is: on this side of heaven, we'll NEVER
understand it!

Jesus explained, "of such" (Like little children)
"is the kingdom of heaven."

It is imperative that we ALL come to Christ as little
children in order to be saved.
We cannot understand, but we can realize!
We can simply believe!
We can surrender and receive!
We can participate!

There is a little child in ALL of us!!
A little realization of sin.
A little desire for guiltiness to be put away.

There's also a little child in EACH of us that
may not UNDERSTAND God's love, but we
can REALIZE it and BELIEVE it!

Love ya!
