THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
One pastor always had an advertisement for his church in the local paper on Friday.
In the advertisement was printed his sermon title for the week.
On the Friday before election day, the sermon title was sent in as: WHAT JESUS SAW IN A PUBLICAN.
However, the newspaper printed: WHAT JESUS SAW IN A REPUBLICAN.
The pastor’s church was over-crowded that Sunday!!
1 Cor 15:48-49
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Before our salvation, we bore the image of “earthy.”
We were filled with sin and corruption.
We were headed for death at the moment of birth.
After our salvation, we should “bear the image of the heavenly.”
We are washed, cleansed, ransomed, pardoned, redeemed.
At the moment of our rebirth we are headed for immortality.
Jesus said, “....because I live, ye shall live also.” (John 14:19)
The promise of eternal life is given when we surrender to Jesus.
Along with our CHANGE should come a change of our image!
We become “branches” of the “Vine,” and should produce “fruit” of the “Vine.” (John 15:5)
Are you “bearing the image?”
Jesus said, “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.” (John 15:8)
