THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
John’s factory closed, and he lost his job.
To make money, he was traveling around the town looking for odd jobs.
One man told him, he’d pay $50 if John would paint the porch out back.
In about an hour and a half, John had finished.
He collected his money from the man, and started out the door.
He looked back and said, “By the way. That’s no Porche, it’s a Lincoln.”
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
One might say that God is the Master Painter, and we are the canvas.
The FIRST step in God’s painting plan is to wipe the canvas clean.
He does that when we surrender to Jesus as Lord of our lives.
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out...” (Acts 3:19)
The SECOND step in God’s painting plan is to begin painting our lives in a different manner.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Cor 5:17)
The THIRD step in God’s painting plan is to keep our canvas from stains.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
The FOURTH step in God’s painting plan is to paint our lives in the image of Christ.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Eph. 2:10 above)
However, many people come to the Master Painter and never exhibit any real change.
Why is that?
Perhaps they never really completed God’s FIRST step.
Or, perhaps they are not participating in the THIRD step.
Follow God’s plan, and become a work of the Master Painter
