THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Mom came home from the doctor and put her 4-year-old son on her lap.

She said, "Honey, you're gonna have a new baby brother soon. You will be able to help.
You can bring me a clean diaper, hold the baby bottle, and even bring the pacifier."

The little boy looked up at his mom and asked,
"And, just what are you gonna be doin' while I do all that WORK?"

Matt 18:1-3
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

THOUGHT____________________________________

When dandelions appear, I see weeds that can take over my yard.
Kids see flowers for Mom, or fun blowing white fluff.

When I see a mud puddle, I see dirty shoes, clothes and carpet that has to be cleaned.
Kids see rivers to cross, dams to build and worms with which to play.

I wonder: Are kids here for us to teach, or to learn from?

Our Lord,Jesus, used children as an example for adults to be saved!
We are to be innocent, loving, trusting and obedient: like CHILDREN!

When the disciples questioned who should be the greatest in heaven (besides Jesus, of course),
He answered them with a tremendous lesson.

A little child comes at the beckoning of his/her elders.
A little child does the bidding of his/her elders.
A little child is reflective of those who have genuinely surrendered to Christ.

ALL who come in genuine surrender to Jesus are GREAT in the kingdom of heaven!
However, NO ONE comes to the kingdom of heaven WITHOUT surrender to Jesus!

This is what it takes to get IN heaven, and ALL who come are considered "great" in His kingdom.

Christian, as a child of God, let each day bring new experiences.
Meet them all with the anticipation of goodness from our Lord!

Love ya!
