I remember Dad takin' me fishin' when I was little.
We got home, and he said, "Now. Let's CLEAN 'em."
I watched as he showed me how to scale the bream,
then cut off their heads and clean out the gut.
I said, "That's NASTY!"
Dad said, "Son, you have a LOT MORE to learn about fishin'!"
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day,
shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children,
and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down,
and when thou risest up.
8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house,
and on thy gates.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Dads: the FIRST thing you need to learn about fishin' for men,
is START AT HOME!
The father is the head of the family.(See Eph. 5:23)
When he stands before God, he will be accountable for them!
A father can be a sometime friend to his children.
But he must be an all time FATHER!
Teach your children the WORD of God!
Teach 'em when:
ya get up,
and when you're sitting in the house,
when you are (walking) working or playing with them,
and when it's time to go to bed!
There is no greater joy than being a father.
There is no greater honor than a father who teaches
the WORD of God to his children.
