THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Unlearning is often more important for change than learning.. and much more difficult.
Changing into a butterfly is not enough.
To fly you have to let go of your cocoon.
For the Christian, putting “off the old man” and putting “on the new man” is more difficult than it seems.
To walk with Jesus, we must leave the old ways and begin a new trek.
2 Cor 3:18
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
To be saved is to surrender to Christ as Lord.
Upon that salvation, the Lord begins regeneration and transformation.
His Holy Spirit enters our person, and then we begin changing.
We are changing "into the same Image from glory to glory."
That is by Whom we are changed, God's Holy Spirit.
The Image into which we are changed is the Lord Himself.
Now, notice by what manner we are changed.
As "we....., with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord...."
We behold Him as in a "glass," which could be termed a mirror.
That mirror is the Word of God, the written expression of His Person.
The more we learn of Jesus from the Word, the more Image God's Holy Spirit has to work with.
As we learn, He molds!
Behold the "glory" of man which was given by the Lord.
It is diminished by sin!
Behold the "glory" which was given to Jesus.
He was without sin!
Let us then, who are sinners all, be not only regenerated, but also transformed by the Image of Christ!
Behold Him in the Word.
Learn of Him.
And allow Him to transform us by purposefully taking into our person His Person!
