THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Joey had been misbehaving, and Mom sent him to his room.
A few minutes later, he came out and informed Mom,
"I said a prayer."
Mom said, "That's good Joey. Asking God to help you not misbehave will help."
Joey said, "Well, I asked God to help you put up with me."
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
"Exhort," in the above Scripture is a word meaning: call near, encourage, comfort.
As human beings, we all need encouragement.
And, we can choose to be an encourager.
The word "daily" implies continued and close fellowship.
Daily the world throws stones at us.
What shall we do with them?
Shall we build a wall, or a bridge?
Some may see the world as fearful each day.
They may choose to NOT enter a close fellowship because of fear.
In the Old Testament, when the spies returned from the "Promised Land,"
many decided NOT to enter because of fear.
Thus, they were "hardened" by unbelief.
The "deceitfulness of sin" kept them from receiving all God had for them at that moment.
Joshua and Caleb, however, said "..rebel not against the Lord...the Lord is with us.."
They were ENCOURAGERS!
Encourage one another in the Lord TODAY!
That gives us hope for tomorrow!
