A couple of musicians were discussing a mutual friend.
"It was really just awful about Clarence," said the first.
"Oh! What happened?" asked the second.
"He was playing in last night's concert when his toupee fell into his tuba."
"I can see where that would be embarrassing, but why was it awful?"
"Because in one of the reviews this morning, it said, 'Clarence spent the entire evening blowing his top!'"

Acts 12:1-5
1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

Lots of times, as Christians, the ole devil gets after us, and we just wanna "blow our top!"

It is the ole devil's desire to "vex" Christians even today!
In our Scripture above, Herod is sort of a symbol of the devil.
He killed James, and saw it pleased some of the people.
Then he imprisoned Peter, thinking to do the same to him.
Later, in Acts 12, we see where prayer led to Peter's safe return.

Satan tries to "cut off" people from the Word of God today.
And he tries to "imprison" some by loading them down with things to do.

But there is HELP!
God is waiting to give help.
The church, individual Christians, and the full body of Christians, can be PRAYING saints!

Prayer is to be in communion with God to receive his fellowship, provision and direction.
We need to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ; especially for our pastors, missionaries, and leaders.

Many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are "imprisoned" by having too many things to do.
Particularly, in America, it is so easy for Christians to be involved in working, or playing
so that there isn't enough time for praying and staying.

And the devil particularly enjoys burdening pastors, missionaries and leaders with too many things to do so that they don't have enough time to study, pray and prepare.

Be a “PRAY ER!”

Love ya!
