There were once two lawyers arguing a case in the Bible Belt. One lawyer thought he would impress the jury by quoting from the Bible. Wanting to cast doubt upon the reliability of an opposition witness, he said, "We have it upon the highest authority that it has been said, 'All that a man has will he give for his skin.'" He sat down please with himself.

However, a wry grin came across the face of the other lawyer as he arose. He said, "I am very concerned that my distinguished colleague regards as "the highest authority" the one who said, 'All that a man has will he give for his skin.' We all know, of course, that is a quote from the Bible. It is in fact from the book of Job. And the one who stated that was the devil. And THAT is whom my opponent regards as "the highest authority!""

John 1:19-29
19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John the Baptist was in a "war of the Word" with the religious leaders of his day. He preached repentance instead of religiosity. He preached surrender instead of legalism.

We are in a WAR in Christianity today!
It is a war of "The Word!"
That war is with the atheist, the humanist, and infidels who refuse to believe. And that war is with so-called Christians who "water down" the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Fathers, Mothers, whatever else you may do, be sure and teach God's Word. It is 100% true and has never been proven wrong! Teach it to your children as such. If they will accept it, the world will never be able to corrupt them.

What will our world come to if people refuse God's Word as truth?
Where will we have a foundation for law?
What will be the standard of morality?
How will people have HOPE beyond this world?

As Christians, we are bound as was John the Baptist, to HERALD the Truth!

Jesus has come to make an acceptable sacrifice for our sins.
Jesus has come to offer forgiveness to mankind.
Jesus died on the cross, arose from the grave and ascended to heaven.
Jesus is coming again to give eternal heaven to those who surrender to Him.

Let us BE the "..voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way of the LORD!'"

Love ya,
