THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A local elementary school band director took the band members on a field trip.
They went to a museum and viewed many displays of modern art.

Two of the boys in the band were particularly mischievous.
They had decided they would be "grown up" today, and be good.
But, they found themselves in a room that displayed twisted pipes, tangled metal and broken glass.

After looking a few moments, one turned to the other and said,
"We better get out of here. They might blame us for this mess!"

Ps 92:12-15
12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

There's a lot to growing up.
One day you are born, then comes the process of aging.
The span of growth is full of little disappointments and joys.
The disappointments of bicycle wrecks, pulling teeth, braces, freckles, pimples and not having your own TV.
The joys of discovering chocolate, finding a $5 bill on the sidewalk, getting a new bicycle, going swimming, and getting your own TV.

But along the way, you learn to grow.
You learn the rules and obey the rules.
You learn the skills to play, and then learn to play.
You learn to read, then you read to learn.
You learn the skills to work, then learn to work.

Finally, you reach adulthood, and discover the true meaning of responsibility.
Everywhere you go, when something goes wrong, you find that you are responsible.

There is a lot to do between being born and the grave.

There is also a lot to do between being born again reaching our eternal goal of heaven!

When we are "born again" we are "planted in the house of the LORD."
And God causes us to realize that we should "flourish" in His courts.

We are to "bring forth fruit."
Our "fruit" is to show others that "the LORD is upright."

Perhaps you have found yourself in a room displaying twisted lives, tangled minds, and broken dreams.
Be responsible - show your determination for growth.

In the disappointments of life, share your joys in Christ.

Love ya!
