My friend, Pat Lofton, is a retired pastor.
He tells a funny story about one of his first churches.

It was small country church.
He and his wife, Kathy, were also going to college.

The local store owner allowed him to pay his grocery bill
once per month.

One month, the store owner tore up the bill, and said,
"Now preacher, you keep going to school and learn how to preach!

1 Peter 5:6-7
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God,
that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

LIGHT from the WORD.

As Christians, we don't need to learn how to be a "somebody."
What we DO need is to "humble" ourselves before God,
and learn from His WORD.

God does CARE about His children!
He wants the BEST for you.

Sometimes life deals us a tough hand.
But God wants to work it for your GOOD. (See Rom. 8:28)

And, if you will "cast(ing) all your care upon Him," He will
help you find peace in every storm!
Phil 4:6-7 says,
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made
known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Being a "somebody" will not help you be stronger than you are!
But giving yourself to Christ, and LEARNING from the Bible WILL!

Learn to be a "somebody" leading others to Christ!

Love ya!
