THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
While walking through a busy parking lot,
a man tripped and fell flat on his face.
As he was lying there, a woman stopped her car and called out,
"Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm fine," he said, touched by her concern.
"Oh, good," she continued.
"So will you be vacating your parking space now?"
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things
which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Light from the Word.
As Christians, we should give "more earnest heed" to God's Word.
If we do not maintain diligent study, we neglect to follow
His guidance given by His Word.
Then we perform His work in pride
or with coldness of attitude toward others.
We then become, at our best, hypocrites.
The neglect of God's Word leads to:
insensitivity to others,
laxness in evangelistic effort,
formality in worship,
and being lukewarm in prayer.
Have you dedicated a certain part of your day to Bible study?
Are you diligent to maintain that study?
