THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Dreaming of heaven must not outweigh our usefulness here on earth.
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour:
yet what I shall choose I wot not.
23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart,
and to be with Christ; which is far better:
24 Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
Paul understood that to "die is gain."
For, he knew that death would bring the end which is an eternal
reward of heaven with our Lord.
Yet Paul also understood that God has a plan for our life here.
And that Christians are to live for Christ: to do His will, and help others
come to know Him.
Just because we are Christians does not make life easy.
Sometimes people will say or do things that hurt us.
But we cannot allow that to deter that which drives us!
Too often, because of some heartache, Christians develop
an "escape" attitude and become a recluse.
To do so is to neglect God's plan for our lives!
We are to study and grow and become useful tools in our Lord's
ministry here on earth.
"How shall they hear without a preacher?" (Rom. 10:14)
Christian, your heart may be hurting.
Don't let your purpose be waiting!
It is "more needful" for others that you "abide in the flesh"
and do God's will.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Do not be a "dreamer,"
Be a "DOER!"
