THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A young man met a beautiful woman and wanted to impress her!
After a few pleasantries, he blurted out, “What do you like in a man?”

She said, “I like a man who is strong like the native Americans---
I like a man who has money like the Jewish men---
I like a man who is plain and simple like country men.”
Then she asked, “By the way, what is your name?”

He replied, “Geronimo Goldstein but most people call me “Bubba.”

SCRIPTURE___________________________

John 15:16-17
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,
and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall
ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

LIGHT from the WORD.

Christian, you were "chosen" when you repented of sin and
surrendered to Jesus. (See John 12:12)

You were "ordained" when God "sealed" you
in His Holy Spirit. (See Eph. 1:13)

You have an open line to God through your surrender to Christ.
He HEARS your prayers.

You are an INDIVIDUAL.
You are a distinct entity with marked individuality.

Since God has made you as an individual,
NO ONE can love others as YOU do!

That word "love" is derived from the Greek agapao.
There's nothing sensual about that word!
It means to care for benevolently without thought of return!

You were ordained for 2 purposes:
1) To love the brotherhood -- other Christians.
To support, help and care for them.
2) To love others INTO Christ.
To show them what He HAS done and WILL do for them.

Be YOU - IN CHRIST!
Care for others the way HE would THROUGH you!

Love ya!
