Police were called to a disturbance at the retirement home.
It seemed there was a revolt going on by the residents!
Three people were identified as leaders of the activist group
and were arrested.
They had seized control of the parlor and locked the matron
in the closet.
The police asked what was the reason for the protest.
One resident said: "We have a bunch of young whippersnappers
running things around here, and we don't trust anybody under 65!"
Another one, who was arrested offered his reason:
"What is the sense of living a long time if some
fifty-year-old-kid is going to tell you what to do?"
1 John 3:1-3
1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us,
that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world
knoweth us not, because it knew Him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear
what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear,
we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself,
even as He is pure.
LIGHT from the WORD.
In this world, Christians are a lot like retired folk.
People just DON'T understand them!
Christians have a wonderful joy.
We KNOW that we have been called by the Lord to salvation.
And, that one day we shall be fully transformed into the
likeness of our Lord.
However, each of us who are called to salvation are also
called to PURITY.
FIRST, we are to COOPERATE with God in transforming us!
SECOND, we are to be CONSECRATED to God.
THIRD, we are to be in CONTRAST with the world.
In order for precious metals (gold, silver) to be PURE
they are tried in the CONTRAST of FIRE!
It is the same with Christians!
We must ALLOW ourselves to be CONSECRATED
to God, and to be a CONTRAST to the evils of the world.
THAT is how we are called to PURITY!
