THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A bus station is where a bus stops.
A train station is where a train stops.
On my desk, I have a work station...
(Thanks again Benton!)
1 Cor 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
My Dad used to say, "Anytime you see the word therefore in the Bible, you oughta look and see what it's there for!"
The "therefore" which begins our verse of study today leads to a conclusion based on several things previously stated.
*Because you are "sown in corruption," and "raised in incorruption;"
*Because you are "sown a natural body," and raised "a spiritual body;"
*Because your last day may come "in the twinkling of an eye;"
"Therefore, be ye .... always abounding in the work of the Lord...."
To be "stedfast, unmoveable,..." means to be firmly established and unchanging.
It is the "work of the Lord," to which we Christians should be "stedfast, unmoveable."
Instead of ceasing, we should always be "abounding" in that work.
Remember, your "labour...in the Lord" is "..not in vain!"
There is no promise of eternal reward for any OTHER work!
In the work of the Lord Jesus, let us not cease, nor rest until our final day here on earth has come!
