THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
I have a very strong feeling that the opposite of love is not hate -- it's apathy.
Scientists announced today that they have discovered a cure for apathy.
However, they claim no one has shown the slightest interest in it.
11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
If God is omnipotent, still on His throne, and constantly involved in a war with evil,
WHY is evil spreading in the leadership of our country?
Because God's "soldiers" have DROPPED their armor and STOPPED fighting!
The tell-tale signs of apathy are in the majority of our churches.
*There is an increase of churches who are plateaued and dying.
*There is a decline in the rate of baptism in our churches.
*There is an alarming similarity in the lifestyles of Christians and the world population.
Have we been doing like the religious leaders of Jeremiah's day, and applying only slight “healing” to our churches?
We have increased "events," but evangelistic action is declining.
Evidenced by the fact that baptism rates are declining.
We have increased literature, but Biblical understanding of our main purpose is missing.
Education of the saved should lead to evangelism of the lost, and standing for moral rightness.
In order to see education that results in evangelism, and events which increase evangelism,
we first need REVIVAL of our relationship with Christ.
David summarized it correctly when he said,
"10 Create in ME a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within ME."
Before activities and education comes relationship!
On an individual Christian level, we need REVIVAL of our relationship with Christ.
THEN activities and education will result in evangelism.
THEN we will see changes in the way Washington, D.C. runs our country!
2 Chron 7:14
"If MY people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; THEN will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
Christian, resolve yourself to this thought:
Changing D.C starts with revival of ME!
