THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Charlie Brown was building a birdhouse, and Lucy was looking on.
Charlie said, "Well, I'm a lousy carpenter. I can't nail straight, I can't saw straight, and I always split the wood. I'm nervous, I lack confidence, I'm stupid, I have poor taste and absolutely no sense of design."
Lucy, looks on incredulously.
And Charlie concludes with this question, "So, all things considered, it's coming along okay?"
"My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
Confidence, in the life of the Christian, is in learning and obeying the Word of God.
Applying God's Word to the "heart" (as in verse 21 above), means to learn what God says, and make decisions according to His instructions.
That takes the focus off what MAN can do, and puts the focus upon what GOD can do.
REAL LIFE is in knowing that God can take our meager and sinful efforts and build His Kingdom upon our profession of faith in Him, and not upon our abilities.
Creation is founded upon God's WORD.
Salvation is founded upon God's WORD.
Eternity is founded upon God's WORD.
REAL LIFE is found in the confidence of what GOD can do!
Let us learn and apply God's Word to our every day decision-making.
