THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

A pastor and one of his deacons were playing golf.
It was a close match.
At the last hole, the pastor teed up the ball, swing his driver with great force, but the ball only rolled off the tee box a few yards.

He didn't say anything, but glared at the ball intently.

The deacon said, "Pastor, I believe that is the most profane silence I ever heard!"

Isa 40:9
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain;
O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength;
lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

THOUGHT____________________________________

Come up to the high mountain!
It is there the sun shines brighter.
There the morning dew is heavier, and glistens with beauty upon the grass.
There the air is more fresh and stimulates the body.

Come to the high mountain with Christ!
Come to the summit!
Reach the peak!
Look around and see the beauty God has created!
Then, you CANNOT be silent!

As Christians, we should be longing to climb to a better and more meaningful relationship with Christ every day.
And as we do so, we shall be strengthened by His mercy, grace, love and hope.
Then we cannot be silent about our Lord in our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, etc..

Far too many Christians are content to live in the dungeons of earth.
The dank and dark air of lethargy, selfishness and pride stunts their relationship with the Savior, and stills their voices.
It takes no effort to dwell in the dungeons!

Work to climb a little HIGHER in your relationship with Christ.
Spend some energy!
PRAY! STUDY!
Draw CLOSER to Him!

THEN, you will speak to the "cities" and say, "BEHOLD your GOD!"

Love ya!
