The pastor was playing golf with one of his deacons.
He was behind one stroke.
When they came to the last tee, he swung with all his
But, he barely touched the ball, and it rolled only a
few yards off the tee box.
Then, he just stood there in silence glaring at the ball.
After about a minute, the deacon said,
"Pastor, I believe that's the most profane silence
I ever heard!"
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the
high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings,
lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid;
say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
LIGHT from the WORD.
God's Bible is timeless!
Christians, God is calling us today!
He's calling us to "lift up" our voices!
Lift them up with "strength"!
"Be not afraid" to tell the world of JESUS!
Come to the "high mountain!"
Blaze abroad the GOOD NEWS!
Jesus has paid the price of man's atonement!
Far too many Christians are content to live in the dungeons
The dank and dark air of lethargy, selfishness and pride stunts
their relationship with the Lord, and stills their voices.
It takes no effort to dwell in the dungeons!
As Christians, we should be longing to climb to a better
and more meaningful relationship with Christ every day.
And as we do so, we shall be strengthened by His
mercy, grace, love and hope.
Then we WILL NOT live in profane silence!!
We will joyfully speak about our Lord and Savior in
our neighborhoods, workplaces, schools, etc.
Spend some energy!
Climb HIGHER in your relationship with Christ.
THEN, you will speak to the "cities" and say,
"BEHOLD your GOD!"
