THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A fella rang my doorbell.
I noticed his truck outside had a trailer attached.
On the trailer was all kinds of lawn mowing, trimming equipment.
He handed me a card, and said he could mow my yard each
week for $___.
I looked at the card.
It said, “LAWN SPECIALIST.”
Hmmm...when I was a kid, we were called:
2 Cor 5:17-21
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself
by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto
us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did
beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we
might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Light from the Word.
Do high sounding titles sometimes make you do a double-take?
Some business cards utilize very important-looking titles.
It seems that the longer the title, the less important the job.
But, Christian, YOU are COMMISSIONED with a
YOU are an "ambassador for Christ!"
The “ministry of reconciliation” is given to us!
God’s plan is for us to "beseech," or make an appeal to the world.
It is our joy to plead with people to “be reconciled to God”
by surrendering to Christ.
How’s that job title doing for ya?
What if every time you handed someone your business card, it read
"AMBASSADOR FOR CHRIST"?
Would your actions be in symmetry with the title?
