THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A panda walks into a café.
He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and proceeds to fire it at the
"Why?" asks the confused, surviving waiter amidst the carnage, as the panda
makes towards the exit.
The panda produces a badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it over his
"Well, I'm a panda," he says, at the door. "Look it up."
The waiter turns to the relevant entry in the manual and, sure enough, finds an
"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal, native to China. Eats,
shoots and leaves."
32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men,
him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny
before my Father which is in heaven.
Light from the Word.
Allow your mind to focus on the words "shall confess."
Those two words are translated from the Greek verb homologeo.
The verb is in the arorist tense -- a perfection tense, meaning:
then, now and always.
Jesus was not saying one can walk down an aisle, say a sinners
prayer and be saved.
He was saying when a person makes a genuine confession of Christ,
it becomes a profession!
It is impossible to genuinely surrender to Christ as Lord without
continually confessing the same!
Life with Christ is not meant to be lived privately.
That's why it is important to make a public confession of our faith in Him.
This confession "signs" a contract with Him.
Confession of Christ as Lord is not a one-time act, it is a continued work!
The reason is that when we genuinely confess Christ as Lord, He seals
us in His Holy Spirit ( Ephesians 1:13).
And God's Holy Spirit CONTINUES to bring out confession of Christ as
Lord through our life style.
One other thought: Whoever is not confessing Christ as Lord
is denying Christ as Lord.
Does your life style exhibit confessing Jesus as Lord?
