THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
There’s an old saying: “Like a moth to a flame.”
Actually, moths aren’t attracted to flames.
Their radar system depends upon light rays from the sun and moon.
When a bright light (or flame) appears too close to the moth,
the radar system becomes confused.
Trying to navigate with a confused radar system brings disaster.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
We say, “It’s COLD today.”
Actually, there’s no such thing as cold.
It is only the absence of heat.
And, we say, “It’s DARK....”
Actually, there’s no such thing as darkness.
It is only the absence of light.
Similarly, sin is the absence of goodness.
When a person is drawn (magnetized) to sin, it is because of “his OWN lust.”
It is NOT of God!
God is light, and does not want us to live in the “darkness” of sin.
Jesus came into the world to bring “light” that attracts us to God.
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Jesus said the devil seeks to “steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”
His usage of sin is to draw (magnetize) man AWAY from God’s goodness.
“Do not err, my beloved brethren.”
To follow sin brings disaster!
Don’t let your radar become confused!
