DAILY DEVOTIONS

Today's Devotion:
"CROWBARS or COMFORTERS"

The editor of a prominent newspaper told
two reporters to find the some tasty
gossip about a conservative who was
running for office.

Next week the reporters came back.
They said it was no use, the guy was too
clean. They only thing they found was
that, when he was in college, he saw a
mugger robbing a couple on the street.
He ran over, took away the robber's
gun, and chased him off.

The editor said, "Write that witnesses
recall seeing him with a gun in an armed
robbery."

_______SCRIPTURE____________

Prov. 11:13

of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
KJV

Prov. 26:20
Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out:
so where there is no talebearer, the strife
ceaseth.
KJV

Prov. 12:18
There is one who speaks like the piercings of
a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes
health.
NKJV

_______THOUGHT______________
Some people would rather be a spiritual
crowbar than a spiritual comfort.

Romans 1:29-32 speaks of unrighteousness,
wickedness, ....slanderers and gossips as
being "worthy of death."
That is pretty STRONG!!

The best advertisement is word of mouth.
The worst malignment is also word of mouth!

When the motor of the mind thinks of something
to say, be sure it is truthful, and helpful before
engaging the clutch on the tongue.

The choice of our words can have serious
consequences to others.
It is crucial that we learn to speak with grace
and edifying others.

Eph. 4:29 says, "Do not let any unwholesome
talk come out of your mouths, but only what is
helpful for building others up according to their
needs, that it may benefit those who listen."

Be a COMFORTER not a CROWBAR!

Love ya!
