2 Tim 3:13-15
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving,
and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast
been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are
able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

LIGHT from the WORD.

There's an old song called "Jesus Is Coming Soon," written by
R.E. Winsett in 1942.
"Troublesome times are here, filling menís hearts with fear
Freedom we all hold dear now is at stake
Humbling your hearts to God saves from the chastening rod
Seek the way pilgrims trod, Christians awake."

For those who truly seek our Lord's presence, these are
indeed "troublesome times!"
Our world seems to be filled with those who seek to serve only self.
There is hardly any "natural affection" toward others.
And, if you exhibit true love toward others, some will mis-interpret it.

In our text above Paul gives Christians two things to do when
facing troublesome times.

First, "CONTINUE" in those things which Christians should do.
BE FAITHFUL to JESUS!
Jesus told John to write concerning the church in Smyrna,
"be faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."

Second, be "assured of" the Holy Scriptures of God.

The Bible is God-breathed.
God specifically gave those who wrote, WHAT to write!
The Bible is the accurate (never proven wrong), inerrant (without error),
and complete work of God to reveal Himself to mankind.

Christians need to awake two two things:
First, the world IS what the world IS;
Second, we are to be DIFFERENT!

Christians -- AWAKE!!
Be faithful and trust our Lord!!

Love ya!
