Heb 12:1-2
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with
so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with
patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God.

LIGHT from the WORD.

Pheidippides was a professional runner for the army.
He is famous for giving us the tradition of "Marathon."

Pheidippides is said to have run 150 miles from Athens
to Sparta, asking for help in the battle against the
Persians.
He then ran the 150 miles back to Athens.

Then, he ran 26 miles to the plains of Marathon and
participated in the battle.
After the battle, he ran from Marathon back to Athens
(26 miles) to announce victory, and to tell them the
Persians were headed around the cape to Athens.

Upon his arrival at the general assembly, he said,
"We WIN!"
Then, he collapsed and died.

To accomplish these amazing feats, Pheidippides had
to keep his FOCUS on his PURPOSE!

THIS is what Christians are to do!
We are in a marathon of life!

May we complete our PURPOSE by
daily maintaining our FOCUS!

Love ya!
