DAILY DEVOTION

HI!

Dad was watching tv.
Mom came dragging their son in front of him.

"Talk to your son," she said. "He refuses to obey a word I say."

The father turned to Jimmy angrily. "Jimmy, how dare you disobey
your mother. Do you think you're better than your old man?"

John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
for without me ye can do nothing.

LIGHT from the WORD.

The "fruit" is united with the vine.
Physically speaking, one cannot have grapes without
a grapevine!
The vine provides the nutrients for the branches so that
they may bear fruit.

Spiritually speaking, the Stem, which is Christ, pulls the power
of His Holy Spirit into the branches, and it is HIS fruit which we bear.
If we were not joined to Christ, we would be barren of any good fruit.

Without Christ we can do NOTHING of spiritual significance!

Branches on a grape vine that do NOT bear fruit are carefully
cut away by the farmer.
Those branches which DO bear fruit are pruned back at the end
of the season so that they will provide MORE fruit next year.

It is the same in the Kingdom of God!
Christ is the VINE; we are the BRANCHES!
And Jesus said,
"...my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth
not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he
purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit."
(See John 15:1-2)

Jesus is the "true vine" which God planted in the earth.
For "..the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..."
(See John 1:12)

When a grapevine is planted, it does not bear apples!
It bears the LIKENESS of the vine!

When God's Holy Spirit is planted in those who have
surrendered to Christ, they are to bear the LIKENESS
of Christ!

Christians are recipients of the nutrients of God,
provided by His Holy Spirit!
Eph 5:9 says,
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness
and truth;)

Christ our Vine is FIRMLY PLANTED!
May we, who are recipients of His Spirit,
BEAR MUCH FRUIT!

Love ya!
