Today's Devotion:
"DAILY EFFORT"

Once when I had taken my dad to the
VA hospital in Shreveport, we stopped
at a restaurant on the way home.

The Maitre D welcomed us, picked up
some menus, and said, "Walk this way!"

And dad started to IMITATE her walk!
I was glad we were BEHIND her.

_______SCRIPTURE____________

Col. 2:6-7
6 As ye have therefore received Christ
Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him:
7 Rooted and built up in Him, and
stablished in the faith, as ye have been
taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
KJV

_______THOUGHT______________

The words "walk ye" are translated from the
Greek peripateo (per-ee-pat-eh'-o).
Actively, it means to tread around, or to walk
at large.
Figuratively, it means to live as, or show
oneself.

If indeed, one has received Christ, he/she
should EXHIBIT a genuine relationship with
Christ in DAILY life.

Walking in Christ means ACTION.
Our choice of words, and the things we do
reflect our Lord being in our heart.

Walking in Christ also means a DAILY EFFORT.
Christianity is NOT just a Sunday religion!
It is a DAILY EFFORT to please our Lord and
show that He is IN our life.

Walking in Christ means PROGRESSION.
We are "Born To Grow In Jesus."
