I really did git educated.
Sometimes ya can't really tell it....but, I did.

I joined the USAF, spent 4 years, got married, had two kids, then went to work as a manager for the US Army and Air Force Exchange Service.
They sent me to Texarkana, where I managed two stores 26 miles apart.
Almost drove me crazy, hence the decision to finish the education.

We moved back to West Monroe, La. and I started working part-time for Safeway Stores, Inc. as I went to college.
The boss made me an assistant manager and told me I could go to school as long as I wanted.
So I quickly crammed a four-year course into 7 years!

Then, masters degree study.
But after 8 years of working 48-hour weeks and never seeing my family, I had no desire to continue.
One professor tole me, "You should finish the masters study."

I said, "Right now, Prof, if anyone mentions "book" to me, I'll THROW it at 'em!"

1 John 1:7-10
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

What a wonderful thought!
"The blood of Jesus Christ .. cleanseth us from all sin."

There are four key thoughts in this passage of Scripture.

First, let us look at verses 8 and 10.
The key thought here is, "We ARE sinners!"
When "Truth" comes to live inside of us, we realize and admit we are sinners.
The work of God's Holy Spirit upon us brings CONVICTION of sin.

Second, we ask forgiveness through confession to the Lord (vs 9).
Conviction of sin leads to contrition for sin.
And it is when we are genuinely sorry for our sin that we confess and beg forgiveness from God.
The work of God's Holy Spirit upon us brings CONTRITION and CONFESSION of sin.

Third, there is a continued relationship with Christ.
"If we walk in the light, as He is in the light..."
A continued personal walk with Christ means continued conviction, contrition and confession.
The work of God's Holy Spirit upon us brings a desire for a CONTINUED walk with Him.

Then, fourth, there is joyful recognition of His complete work in us.
"The blood of Jesus Christ .. cleanseth us from all sin."

He cleanses us from past sins.
He cleanses us from present sin.
And He CONTINUES His work to bring perfect and complete cleansing!
He cleanses us from ALL sin!

Walk DAILY with the Lord Jesus Christ and,
You will walk in CONVICTION,
You will walk in CONTRITION,
You will walk in CONFESSION,
And you will walk in CLEANSING!

Love ya!
