THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Back in the early 1900's, a lady was kneeding a huge batch of dough in her kitchen. She noticed the fire in her stove was going down. So she hastily removed her hands from the dough and ran out to chop an armload of wood for the stove.
As she returned to the kitchen, she noticed her recently engaged teenage daughter sitting in the kitchen.
"Momma," asked the girl dreamy-eyed, "how long does the honeymoon last?"
Mom looked at her knowingly and said, "Till there's dough on the axehandle honey!"
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
When we are "born again" into Christ, we enter an eternal "honeymoon" with Him.
That "honeymoon" will soon lead to an eternal home called heaven with Jesus.
But there should be "dough on the axehandle!"
The bride relationship of every Christian brings with it responsibilities.
Each Christian has five main responsibilities to our Lord, Jesus:
Worship, Discipleship, Ministry, Fellowship and Evangelism.
During the performance of the first four, EVANGELISM should be our main priority!
People need to hear about Jesus.
People cannot hear unless Christians tell.
We are all "called" and "sent" for that purpose.
God says our feet are "beautiful" if they are carrying the Gospel of Christ!
