THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Years ago, I went to the bank one day to withdraw some money.
I filled out the form.
But I mistakenly put one number in the bank account WRONG.
Thank goodness the clerk knew me!
As she was processing the account withdrawal, she said,
”Bro. Bruce you’re trying to withdraw from an account that doesn’t exist!”
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.
For what is your life?
It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
How many times do we say, “Tomorrow I will .....”
We sometimes don’t stop to think about what might happen TODAY,
to keep us from doing what we want tomorrow!
We may be trying to withdraw from a nonexistent account!
James also tells us what we SHOULD say.
“For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.” (James 4:15)
Yes, the Bible does teach us to plan for the future.
But, there is no guarantee that we will live to complete those plans!
I think the lesson here is:
Live each day for Jesus, so that your last day may be a testimony for others!
