THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

When you dress in the morning, some folk say you are actually
making a statement about your hope for the day.

For instance, if you put on “flip-flops,” you are saying,
”I hope I don’t have to run today!”

The word from which “hope” is translated is the Greek elpis (el pece’).
It means to anticipate with pleasure and in confidence!

The hope of eternal life we have in Christ is the basis for our daily joy here on earth!
Meditating on the joys of heaven strengthens our living today.

And, it’s not all about thinking of gates of pearl, walls of jasper, and streets of gold.
For instance, we think also of four special things that keep us living in hope.

WEARINESS
Daily we become weary and fatigued with the battle of sin.
But, in heaven, weariness will be banished!
There’ll be no tiring there!

TEMPTATION
Today, we are constantly in war with temptation.
But, in heaven, sin will be banished, and there will be no temptation!
There’ll be no crying there!

GRIEF
Today, we grieve for loved ones we have lost.
But, in heaven, we will be immortal!
There’ll be no dying there!

SEEING CHRIST FULLY
Most of all: today, we know Christ dimly, as looking through a dark glass (1Cor. 13:12).
But, in heaven, we’ll know Him face to face, mind to mind, heart to heart!
We’ll know Him as He IS!

Dress your mind and heart with HOPE today!
And, when the devil reminds you of your frailness, remind him of his END!

Love ya!
