A truck driver backed his dump truk too far over the grade.
The weight of the load lifted the front of the truck several feet off the ground.

His helper asked, "Now what do we do?"

The driver jumped from his seat and grabbed some things from his tool box.
He took his phone and called for a wrecker.
Then he said, "Well, now's a perfect time to give it a grease job while we're waiting for the wrecker to pull us free."

Acts 1:10-11
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven,
shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

After Jesus had risen from the grave, He appeared to His disciples MANY times.
In fact, Luke says, "he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days..." (Acts 1:3)

On His final appearance, Jesus ascended as "a cloud received Him." (Acts 1:9)

At that moment, the disciples were stricken with amazement!
Suddenly they realized Jesus would not be coming back, and they would face the world without His physical presence!

Pilate hated them.
The Jewish leaders hated them.
The Roman government hated them.
What were they to do now?

Then an angel appeared.
The angel said, in effect, "Don't just stand there, DO something!"
Remember: "this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen
him go into heaven."
(Acts 1:11 above)

He's coming BACK!
He'll appear in the clouds with GLORY!

And, I think SOON!

So, dear believer, what are YOU doing?
Are you standing in amazement at His resurrection and ascension?
Are you paralyzed with fear at the hate and atrocities of the world?

Don't just stand there, DO something for Jesus!
GO -- tell others, teach others, baptize others, and teach them some more!! (Matt. 28:18-20)

While you're waiting for His appearance,

We are not saved to stand!
We are saved to serve!

Love ya!
