The faith of the Bible is an enabling gift.
It is given only to those who surrender to Christ as
Lord of their lives.

The purpose of this gift is to enable the believer to
cling to and follow Jesus in ALL circumstances.

Mark 10:46-52
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho
with his disciples and a great number of people, blind
Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway
side begging.
47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth,
he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David,
have mercy on me.
48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace:
but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David,
have mercy on me.
49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called.
And they call the blind man, saying unto him,
Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
50 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and
came to Jesus.
51 And Jesus answered and said unto him,
What wilt thou that I should do unto thee?
The blind man said unto him,
Lord, that I might receive my sight.
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way;
thy faith hath made thee whole.
And immediately he received his sight,
and followed Jesus in the way.

LIGHT from the WORD.

According to the chronology of Jesus' travels, both
Mark 10:46-52 and Luke 18:35-43 speak of this same instance.

Bartimaeus yelled and yelled for Jesus, and would NOT hush,
even when the crowd tried to tell him to hush.

Notice that when Bartimaeus cried out to Him, Jesus LISTENED!!
Even though the crowd thought Him too busy,
He called the man to Him.

When Jesus found out what Bartimaeus wanted, He spoke
and the manís eyes were healed!!
The next verse signifies he not only was healed of
physical blindness, but also of spiritual blindness;
for "he followed Jesus in the way!"

Many people recognize Jesus and call upon Him for help when
they are in trouble.
But the healing of the soul is for those who will FOLLOW Him.

Faith is not a matter of believing the facts of the Bible.
Faith is a matter of CLINGING to Jesus in ALL circumstances.

That faith comes only as a "gift" from God to those who
SURRENDER to Jesus as Lord.
"8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."

(Eph 2:8-9)

Have you surrendered to Jesus as Lord and received
a clinging"faith?"

Love ya!
