desert place, and rest a while:
for there were many coming and going,
and they had no leisure so much as to eat.

LIGHT from the WORD. 
Now, Jesus' apostles (those commissioned to be sent) returned
from their journey. (See Mark 6:7-12)
They began to tell Jesus all the wonderful things they had seen
God do as they obeyed His commissioning.
The multitudes continually gathering around Jesus presented
a hindrance to His listening to and teaching these apostles.
So Jesus requested that they draw apart, and in a "desert place"
find quietness where He could minister to them.
It's good for ALL Christians to do the SAME!
Each morning I arise for prayer, then Bible study.
At 4am in the morning, hardly ever am I disturbed or
distracted at that time of the day!
With the Bible open on one side, and a notepad on the other,
I read, study and write down notes.
If you really want Jesus to minister to you;
then "draw apart" with Him every day!
Pray, study, listen - even write.
When you get alone WITH Jesus, you will learn FROM Him,
and be refreshed BY Him!
