THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
You might be in education if....
You want to slap the next person who says,
"Must be nice to work from 8 to 3 and have your summers free!"
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh:
is there any thing too hard for me?
Al Lingren, professor at an evangelical seminary, tells a story about taking his son fishing one day.
His son was then in junior high school.
It was one of those days when the fish didn't bite, so they had a lot of time to talk.
It seemed like the question came out of left field.
Al's son asked, "Dad, what do you think is the hardest thing God ever tried to do?"
Al, was momentarily stumped, and just returned a question: "Well, son, what do YOU think it was?"
His son said, "Dad, you're a preacher. You should know the hardest thing God ever tried to do. When I was studying science in school, I thought it was maybe creating the universe.
Then, we were talking in Sunday School about the resurrection, and I thought maybe that was the hardest thing God ever tried to do.
But then I realized that most people don't really know God very well.
I think the hardest thing God ever tried to do was get us to understand Who He is, and that He loves us."
No doubt, the hardest thing God ever tried to do was to tell us Who He is, and make us understand that He loves us.
But NOTHING is "too hard" for God!
So, He came to mankind in the Person of Jesus Christ.
He revealed somewhat of His wisdom when He stumped the scholars in the temple.
But He revealed His omniscience when He told the scribes "Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?"
He knew their thoughts!
He revealed somewhat of His power when He healed lepers, the blind and the lame, and raised people from death.
But He revealed His omnipotence when He rose from the grave, having conquered death and Satan.
And He revealed His love for us when He died on the cross at Calvary for our sins.
"For God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
NOTHING is "too hard" for Him!
But one question might be presented:
has God convinced YOU to love Him
as much as HE loves you?
