DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

Six year old Sam was getting ready for school.
He told his mom, "I think I'll be SAD today."
Mom asked, "Why do you want to do that?"
Sam, "When your sad all the teachers hug you!"

_______SCRIPTURE____________
Gen 34:1-2 1 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto
Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.
2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of
the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.
KJV
_______THOUGHT______________

As far as we can tell, Dinah was Jacob's daughter and
probably a teenager.
She went out to "look about;" and to see what other
girls were doing.

The Bible teaches that "Foolishness is bound in the heart of
a child;..."
(Prov. 22:15)
That verse also says, "...but the rod of correction shall drive it
far from him."

Young people have emotions just like older people do.
The "rod of correction" in the home should START with the
BIBLE!
The Bible teaches that people have emotions, and also
teaches we should learn to CONTROL them.

Young people can easily be swayed by the things of the world.
And, especially, they may be "swept away" by those emotions
if they are not taught how to control them.

Parents must teach children that the ways of the world are not
always consistent with the ways of God!

If you read the "rest of the story" in Gen. 34, Dinah's actions
brought about terrible consequences.

Parents, remember that the "rod of correction" STARTS
with the use of the BIBLE!!

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he
is old, he will not depart from it!"

Love ya!
