THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Al went to the doctor because he’d been experiencing discomfort in his chest.
After a long series of test, the doctor came in to talk to him.
The doctor had a small basket, full of pills.
He said, “This one will control your heart discomfort,
however it may cause liver damage,
so this one is to counteract damage to the liver,
however it may harm your spleen,
so this one is to protect your spleen,
however it may damage the stomach,
so these are to protect your stomach....”
2 Cor 4:18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 5:1
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God,
an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Life is not always easy.
As we get older, things start happening to our bodies.
Then we have to take one pill for this, and another for that.
THANK GOD for our GREAT PHYSICIAN JESUS!
One day this ole tabernacle of clay will be “dissolved,” and He will take us to our new home “eternal in the heavens!”
There we will reside “eternal” in a perfect body!
The English poet, Lewis Morris wrote:
There shall come out of this noise
of strife and groaning
A broader and a juster brotherhood,
A deep equality of aim, postponing
All selfish seeking to the general good.
There shall come a time when each shall to another
Be as Christ would have him— brother unto brother.
Let us not allow the focus of an “earthly house” to defray our “blessed hope!”
Let us live today as if tomorrow that promise might become reality!
For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
Endure the chills,
take the pills,
for there is a thrill
beyond all thrills
When we reside
on that blessed hill!
