THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
A friend is someone who thinks you’re a “good egg,”
even though you are slightly “cracked,”
or maybe a little “scrambled!”
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly:
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
If you would have a friend, be a friend.
Along with friends comes fellowship.
Fellowship has been likened to linking arms.
That way when one stumbles the other holds him up.
To have friends we should be pleasing to others.
We should be open with others, visit, and make others welcome in our lives.
With every opportunity we should show ourselves caring and tender toward others.
Life is too precarious to live without friends.
care when we have trouble,
help when we are in need,
be there when we are lonely,
cry when we hurt,
laugh when we are joyful,
pray for us,
and want the best for us.
And we have one Friend Who "sticketh closer" than even blood relations:
Our Lord Jesus!
He demonstrated greater love than any man, when He knew our sins,
but "lay down His life for His friends." (John 15:13)
Christ said we are His friends when we are obedient to His commands (John 15:14).
We can exhibit our friendship with Christ when we study His Word,
learn His Word, and live accordingly.
He has shown Himself friendly toward us, let us show our friendship to Him!
