THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

((I've used this example before.))

When our son was about 2 years old, he found a paper clip in my home office.
Later, Ann noticed he was trying to insert the paper clip in the wall plug-in socket!

She took the paper clip away, and told him "No! No! That will BURN you!"

He went to his room to play.
Soon, we heard, "ZZZZZZT! OWWW!!"

He had gone into my office again, got another paper clip, and this time successfully inserted it into a wall socket!

James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

THOUGHT_________________________________________________________

Faith is a gift of God, given to a soul surrendered to Christ (Eph. 2:8-9).
Faith enables constant trust in Christ for eternal deliverance (John 3:16).

Works for Christ, alone, cannot deliver the soul, for works cannot earn faith.
Works, for Christ, are an outward expression of inward faith.

Faith is the cause of works for Christ!
Faith inside us demands expression outside of us.

One of the consequences of putting a paper clip into a plug-in socket is to receive an electric shock.
That shock will make one SHOW the entrance and work of the electricity in the body!

One of the consequences of plugging into Jesus through surrender to Him as Lord is to receive the electrifying work of His Holy Spirit in and through our souls.
And His Holy Spirit NEVER ceases to work!

Therefore, "faith without works is DEAD."
There can be no inward faith without outward expression!

Remember: the boat of life has two oars.
One is named "faith," the other is named "works."
Unless both are being used, the boat will only go in circles!

Love ya,
Bruce
