(Another old example)
A dirigible was to land in Texas.
It had many ropes hanging from it, with which to be tied down.
Several men were stationed around stakes to tie the dirigible down
when it arrived.

Just as the dirigible came low to the ground, a huge wind gusted.

All the men had grabbed the ropes, but were now pulled upward.
All fell off except ONE man.

When they finally got the dirigible tied down, someone asked that
man how he held on in that strong wind.

He said, "When it lifted me, I tied the rope around my waist.
I didn't hold onto it. It held onto me!"

1 Peter 1:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again
unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that
fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time.

Light from the Word.

One of the key words in Verse 5 above is "KEPT!"
Faith keeps us GLUED to the Lord Jesus!

We have received MERCY!
Whatever we are facing, it is not as severe as it should have been!
Our sins demanded punishment and death.
But our dear Savior has taken our punishment and died FOR us!

During any calamity, we can focus on JUDGMENT.
Through the vicarious suffering and death of our Lord,
we have received acquittal from eternal death.
In its place, God has provided eternal life in heaven with Him!

Sailing upon the sea of life, we may experience winds of sorrow
and waves of anguish.
But we can sing to The Master Of The Sea, and find
"grace to help in time of need."

Faith answers all trouble with the certainty of hope.
It is not the desire for, but the sure knowledge of heaven that
gives the Christian joy in his/her life.

Be sure your life is tied to Jesus by the rope of faith!

Love ya!
