Ghandi, before he died, never wore shoes and never ate meat.
As a consequence, his feet were bruised, he had no energy and he suffered from bad breath.
He was a super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

Ezra 8:21
Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God,
to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

The verse above shows that the purpose of fasting is to humble the body to the spirit.
Prayers during this time should proceed from the heart that is touched by a great need.

The next twenty days are critical in our nation.
We NEED God’s divine direction!

Contrary to popular belief, there have been over 1,000 calls to prayer and fasting by governors and presidents!
Thomas Jefferson helped initiate a call for the first national day of prayer and fasting!
John Hancock called his State of Massachusetts to prayer and fasting TWENTY-TWO times!
Abraham Lincoln called the entire nation to fasting and prayer in 1863!
And, there are many more examples.

May I call upon you to join me and “afflict ourselves before our God”?
Let us “seek of Him a right way for us.”
Without His Divine intervention, we may see a tremendous plight “for our little ones!”

During the next twenty days, please skip a lunch. When the hunger causes the stomach to “growl,” use the time for PRAYER!

Love ya!
