THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
If you do not read the newspaper, you are uninformed.
If you read the newspaper, you are misinformed.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free,
and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
Christ has given those who surrender to Him, “liberty.”
The Greek word from which liberty is derived is: eleutheria (el-yoo-ther-ee'-ah), and describes moral freedom.
It is the freedom to live righteously according to the charter of His love: the Bible.
Every Christian has been given liberty which has application in:
“The pursuit of happiness by the practice of reason and truth.”
(William Wollaston's 1722 book The Religion of Nature Delineated)
Every Christian has also been given the obligation to seek happiness according to the Word of God.
Now, most folk look at the Bible as a list of “thou shalt NOTs,” and “thou SHALTs.”
However, the truly saved person sees the Bible as the magna carta of our freedoms!
For instance, the truly saved Christian:
has the freedom of approaching God’s throne in prayer at any time (Heb. 4:16);
has the promise of God’s closeness at all times (Is. 43:2);
has the realization of mercy poured out from God each day (Lam. 3:22-23);
has foundational truth at his/her reach (John 17:17);
has grace upon grace through Christ (John 1:16);
and, has the promise of eternal life with Christ (John 3:16, John 10:28, Rom. 6:23 and more).
Christ has made us free to LIVE in “liberty!”
