THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS
Harry found a grandfather clock marked 25% off.
It was exactly what he wanted, so he paid for it and had it
delivered the next day.
When it was delivered he set it up in a prominent place
in the living room.
You can imagine Harry’s surprise when he discovered
that it ran slow!
No matter how he adjusted it, the clock lost 15 minutes
Returning to the clock store, Harry complained to the
manager "The grandfather clock I bought loses 15 minutes
The clerk replied, "Well, what did you expect?
It was clearly marked 25% off!"
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
LIGHT from the WORD.
Life sometimes is cruel.
Often our expectations do not live up to our hopes and dreams.
Our expectations from the world are:
to attend school when we reach the age of five,
to drive when we reach the age of 16,
to graduate high school when we are 17 or 18,
to graduate college, if we can,
to find a good job, and
to (hopefully) reach retirement age and "take it easy,"
BUT THEN WHAT?
This world offers no more!
Christ offers eternal life with Him in a place called heaven!
He offers an inexaustible bank account of "FAITH";
He offers our needs met by God's lovingkindess;
He offers peace in the storms of life;
He offers consolation in times of sorrow.
Let us not wait upon the world, nor upon people for expectations.
Let us wait upon CHRIST!
