THROUGH THE BIBLE IN THREE YEARS

DAILY DEVOTIONS

HI!

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

I heard about a lady who was stopped by a police officer. When she got out of her car, the officer said, "Ma'am, did you know that your license plate is on UPSIDE DOWN?"

She said, "Oh, yes. I know. It makes my car so much easier to find in the mall parking lot. It's the ONLY ONE like that!"

Eph 2:13
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

To most people God is a REFERENCE and not a REALITY. A reference is someone you know by name, but a reality is someone you know by experience.

The realness of knowing God personally has not entered most people's minds. Many people acknowledge His existence because they know others have told them. They trust their friends, and respect their integrity enough to believe them. But the thought of actually experiencing God as a person has never really occured to them.

In your life, do you sometimes feel like the Psalmist "O God, be not far from me..." (Psalm 71:12)? Well, let's turn that license plate UPSIDE DOWN! God is NOT FAR OFF, and He has made you "NIGH" by the blood of Christ!

You don't have to travel to know God - just PRAY. When you pray to the "Father," realize He is REAL. "Father" does not have to be an abstract term. "Father" does mean that He is Creator and Sustainer of all things. Also it means, He is a Person and loves like a father: protects, provides, and is genuinely interested in your personal well-being.

You don't have to take someone else's word about God - READ THE BIBLE. The Bible is the written revelation of God. In the Bible, God expresses Himself. He reveals His character, integrity and love. His residence is heaven, and He has made you to "sit in heavenly places" (Galatians 2:6). When you study the Bible, you are entering the learning place of Jesus. You are sitting at His knee, and He is telling you about the world, you, and Himself.

A.W. Tozer once said, "Many Christians spend their life trying to love and IDEAL and be loyal to a PRINCIPLE."

Let us today, get to know the REALNESS of God!
Let us PRAY!
Let us STUDY!
And let us EXPERIENCE Him!

Love ya,
Bruce
